Job summary
As part of Havens Hospices' multidisciplinary team to provide counselling and emotional support to the children, young people and families using Havens Hospices Care Services to improve mental health and wellbeing following often traumatic life events.
To provide support and education to other teams, agencies and professionals working with children, young people and adults with life-limiting illnesses and following bereavement.
Main duties of the job
- To work closely with Havens Hospices Care Teams to identify children, young people and families that require psychological support, ensuring good communication and effective joint planning and working.
- To work with patients and families independently within a professional framework and following Havens Hospices policy.
- To ensure that patients and families are aware of the therapeutic supportive services available to them

Essential
- Recognised professional child and young person counselling or psychotherapy qualification (Level 4 diploma as a minimum)
- Be a registered member of a recognised professional body (BACP, NCPS)
- Experience in working with children, young people and families
- Palliative care / bereavement support experience
- UK Driving Licence and access to own transport
