Derbyshire Minds Crisis Support Drop-In services are friendly and supportive non-clinical crisis services for adults who self-define as needing immediate help with their mental health or emotional wellbeing. Located in Buxton, Ripley and Swadlincote, the services offer out-of-hours mental health help, support and signposting in a relaxed and comfortable community environment. The services will be open on Friday evenings, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, all year round.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an organised and supportive individual with a passion for improving mental health and wellbeing, strong administrative skills, with a can-do positive approach, ideally with experience of leading a team, to coordinate Derbyshire Minds new Crisis Support Drop-In service in Ripley, Derbyshire!

About us

Role: Local Coordinator: Crisis Support Drop-In (Ripley, Derbyshire)

Hours: Part time: 15 hours per week.

Salary: £24,000 per year, pro rata. Actual salary for these part-time hours equates to £9,730 per year.

Contract: Fixed term contract until end of May 2025 (potential for contract extension)

Location: Flexible by location: Will include working from the service venue (Ripley Town Centre), Derbyshire Minds Head Office (Mackworth, Derby) and your home.

Job Purpose: The purpose of this post is to be a key member of staff of the service, by coordinating all aspects of local service delivery, including line managing staff and volunteers, developing efficient systems and processes, and ensuring the service is delivered reliably and effectively.

Working Pattern: Hours typically include working Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. eg: Tuesday 1030am to 2.30pm, Thursday 12.30 to 430pm, Friday 1pm to 6pm, Saturday 4pm to 6pm. (Times may be tweaked to suit the right applicant please discuss at application/interview)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The Local Coordinator role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Crisis Support Drop-In service. This will include, for example, general service administration, the line management of the Support Workers, supervising and supporting the volunteer team, coordinating the staff and volunteer rotas, ensuring all shifts have sufficient staff cover, leading staff one-to-ones and team meetings, ensuring stock levels are maintained, ensuring furnishings and equipment are clean and well maintained, collating and reporting on activity and data and outcomes, reporting staff overtime to the finance manager, responding to local enquiries, management of email services, liaising with the Service Lead, so that the service can deliver on its objectives.

You will achieve this by having strong organisational and communication skills, experience of managing a team, and a genuine passion for improving the mental health and wellbeing of residents in Ripley and the surrounding areas. Does this sound like you?

You will be line managed by Derbyshire Minds Crisis Services Lead who will support you to act independently with confidence by providing regular supervision meetings, clear mutually agreed objectives, and the scope for you to make the role your own, and help deliver the best service possible!

You will be flexible by location: based in Ripley town centre where the service is delivered from, but you might also work from Derbyshire Minds HQ in Mackworth, Derby, and from home. Some travel around Ripley and Derbyshire will be required as part of delivering this role. A driving license and access to a car is necessary.
