Job summary
Farleigh Hospice is a charity that provides support to people affected by life limiting illnesses across mid Essex.
Our team at Farleigh has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community we serve and we are looking for highly motivated sessional counsellors to work alongside our Circle Bereavement team on a temporary as required basis.
Main duties of the job
You will have capacity to deliver a core offer of 6 sessions per client [£26 per hour] and a minimum caseload of 6 clients per week with sessions offered in person or remotely. This role is ideal for those who can commit regular time and are passionate about supporting people through grief in a responsive and timely manner.
You will be an empathic counsellor with excellent communication skills and a passion for service improvement within health care and in particular the field of bereavement. Experienced in delivering short-term work, you will also be experienced in multi-agency practice with more complex presentations.
You will have regular clinical supervision in place with a supervisor who is registered with a recognised professional body [e.g. BACP, UKCP, NCS], and with whom appropriate arrangements can be made to meet the regulatory requirements for these sessional clients. In addition, we shall provide operational and governance management on a monthly basis.
A key part of the role is to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and other health and care professionals to deliver the best possible care for our clients ensuring Farleigh Hospice bereavement service is an integral part of the local health and care economy and is current with the national bereavement picture.
