St Margarets Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team. This role is based in Taunton. You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,294 - £38,941 per annum. Although this is a full-time role, we understand that different ways of working suit different people which is why we are open to a part time working pattern, if that works better for you
Based in based in our multi-disciplinary Therapy Team, you will support patients in a variety of settings, including in-patient, outpatient, Day Centre or in their own homes. The service is for palliative patients at all stages of their journey, from diagnosis to end stage disease, offering preventative, restorative, supportive and palliative rehabilitation and intervention.
With ongoing investment in your professional and personal development, well help you to develop and enhance your existing skills, knowledge and experience. You will also have full access to in-service training and courses on and off site to support your CPD.

Main duties of the job
The Specialist Physiotherapist at St. Margaret’s is a specialist practitioner with extensive knowledge, skills and competency to manage a complex caseload of patients with advanced, progressive life limiting disease.
They will undertake the holistic assessment, planning and delivery of a consistently high standard of specialist palliative and supportive care in accordance with the hospice policy, procedures and standards.
The post-holder will be based in the Therapy Team working as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Hospice and in the community.
They will establish effective working relationships with all internal referrers and referrers from Primary and Secondary Health Care teams, and act as a resource for professionals and non- professionals involved in palliative care within the community.
They will take responsibility for own clinical caseload of complex patients working as an autonomous practitioner, without direct supervision. Supervision will be in the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
They will be instrumental in the training and development of more junior and support staff.

The position is suitable for someone with existing palliative care experience or a willingness to take on a developmental role with the opportunity for progression.
