Job summary
What does an average day involve Putting orders away, opening up the kitchen for the day, completing HAACP Documentation. Making soups, quiches, daily specials of your choice, baking scrummy cakes, sandwich fillings, pies. Preparing the salad bar for service. Attending the inpatient unit speaking with each patient and discussing their likes, dislikes and dietary needs for that day. Making meals for patients at lunch and tea time.
Main duties of the job
Running a full lunch service alongside another chef and a kitchen assistant, anywhere between 40 and 90 covers. Preparing afternoon teas, baking for these. Planning ahead for the rest of the weeks demands Everyone does a bit of everything, including washing up yes really!
