Job summary

Our client support workers [CSW] are a valued part of our clinical team. Working closely with registered nurses and doctors they provide additional support and care to our patients and service users.

Our unique unit offers a fantastic work environment and an opportunity to deliver patient-centred care of the highest standard.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities

delivering personal care

taking and recording patient observations

spending time to talk with patients

You will also be expected to take lead with replenishing stores etc.

About us

The Sussex Beacon is a Brighton based charity offering specialist care and support for people living with HIV. The 10 bedded in-patient unit provides 24-hour care for people who experience additional health, psychological and/or social related issues that affect their ability to self-care in the community. We work closely with the local acute trust accepting acute referrals and providing a step-down and in-reach service.

  • Providing physical nursing care, psychological and social support, recognising unmet needs and collaborating with registered practitioners.
  • Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients on the inpatient [IPU], in conjunction with the Registered Nurse.
  • Support the Registered Nurses in relation to checking the administration of controlled drugs, emergency interventions and all aspects of client care.
