Job summary
The Pharmacy Delivery Support role is responsible for the safe, timely, and secure transportation of medicines and healthcare-related items across designated Trust sites and patient homes. Operating within a defined delivery area, the post holder ensures accurate delivery and collection of prescriptions and pharmacy items from key locations including Stratford-Upon-Avon Hospital, Warwick Hospital, George Eliot Hospital, Rugby St Cross, and University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the safe, timely, and secure transportation of medicines, prescriptions, and healthcare-related items across Trust sites and patient homes. The role supports daily pharmacy operations, ensuring patients receive their medication whilst adhering to handling protocols, maintaining vehicle standards, and upholding safety regulations.
The post holder will complete administrative duties related to delivery documentation, incident reporting, and compliance with training requirements. The post holder will be expected to delivery within a defined area to successful carry out the role and meet the operational needs of the service.

Adhere to policies, including the Drivers Handbook and Workplace Transport Policy.
Spillage and Hazardous Substance Management
Carry and maintain a spill kit at all times.
Attend and comply with spillage training and COSHH guidelines.
Record Keeping and Documentation
Maintain accurate delivery logs and incident reports.
Ensure proper documentation for possession and transfer of medicines.
Communication and Coordination
Liaise effectively with pharmacy staff, patients, and other departments.
Report delays, incidents, or issues promptly to line managers.
Security and Confidentiality
Follow procedures for secure transport and storage of medicines.
Uphold patient confidentiality and data protection standards.
