As a key member of the Outpatients Pharmacy team, you will provide essential support to ensure the smooth running of daily operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Acting as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will deliver a welcoming, safe, and effective service that reflects the highest standards of patient care.
Your role is central to maintaining positive relationships with patients, offering assistance with their pharmacy needs, and ensuring their experience is both efficient and reassuring. By supporting the wider pharmacy team in administrative and customer-facing tasks, you will contribute directly to the department's overall performance and service delivery.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient interaction, making you a vital link between the pharmacy and the people it serves.
Main duties of the job
Providing assistance to support the daily operational tasks in a busy Outpatients Pharmacy. You will be the initial point of contact for patients and visitors accessing the hospital pharmacy. You will be delivering a safe, effective and caring service, maintaining excellent relationships with patients. Through this you will be a vital link to help the team achieve sound business performance.

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT). The company provides a number of services such as outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, George Eliot, University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire and St Cross (Rugby) hospitals; estates and facilities management at Warwick, Stratford upon Avon and Ellen Badger hospitals, Acorn House and Lillington Health Hub; private patient service and consultancy services to NHS Trusts.
Subject to the Company and individual's performance, an annual discretionary bonus will be awarded.

Assist in accurately bagging up TTOs for the porter delivery to the wards
Accurately file completed prescriptions
Assist in the sale of over-the-counter medicines and provide information to customers on symptoms and products
Assist patients with their medication queries, liaising with relevant staff to obtain answers for patients
Maintain the cash register and ensure daily balances are correct and ensure credit card transactions are carried out correctly
Assist with maintenance of the shop and retail stock takes
Ensure that paperwork is completed accurately and on time, communicates issues as appropriate, and attends meetings as required
Complete and keep up to date personal mandatory training record.
Any other relevant duties and training requirements at the request of the line Manager.
