Domestic Assistant Advert Stratford Hospital

We require a caring and enthusiastic individual to work part time as a Domestic Assistant within the Facilities team.

We have a full-time position available within the team. The role involves undertaking cleaning duties throughout the hospital. We deliver a service 7 days a week and the working pattern for this role will be 5 out 7 which may involve weekend work.

This post will be based at Stratford Hospital.

You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

There will be the expectation, when required, to clean in other departments.

Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

You will play a key role in ensuring our patients care and experience is enhanced through creating a clean and comfortable environment for them and being a friendly face around the hospital.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high-quality domestic service, to patients, staff and visitors maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with the specification.

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT). The company provides a number of services such as outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick and Stratford and Nuneaton hospitals; estates and facilities management at Stratford hospital, Acorn House and Lillington Health Hub; private patient service and consultancy services to NHS Trusts.

Subject to the Company and individual's performance, an annual discretionary bonus will be awarded.

Job responsibilities

Undertaking necessary duties to ensure the upkeep of a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital and associated areas. These duties will be carried out both in patient, and non-patient environments and may also entail specialised cleaning tasks. To be responsive to service needs as they arise and to constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service.

Main Duties

All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security and Company and Trust policies and procedures, including infection control.

The post holder may work in an environment where they could be exposed to sensitive circumstances.

The post holder will be exposed to some unpleasant environmental conditions.

The effective cleaning and maintenance of all hygiene standards within a designated area and all of its facilities. Comply with the work schedules and using appropriate methods of work, ensuring any service level agreement and quality standards are met in line with Company and Trust policies.

Collection and safe removal of non-clinical and/or clinical waste within your area of work in line with Company procedures and Trust policies.

Safe storage and maintenance of appropriate stock and supplies ensuring that these are available as required within the designated area.

May be required to assist with meal services and be responsible for beverage services to the required standard.

Ensure confidentiality, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times in accordance with the Data Protection Act and in line with Company and Trust policy, where appropriate.

Conduct yourself in a professional manner whilst on Trust and Company premises.

Ensure you understand and comply with all relevant current legislation as set out in Company and Trust policies and procedures and the related documentation, including the Employee Terms and Conditions Handbook, Employee Health, Safety and Environmental Handbook and security procedures.
