Job summary

Join the Outpatient pharmacy team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in Nuneaton to deliver a safe, effective and caring service, maintain excellent relationships with patients, and through this help the team achieve sound business performance.

The full time working pattern is 40 hours per week (5 days/wk, 8 hrs per day, Monday to Friday) but we also welcome applications for part time working. These hours alter slightly if you are asked to provide cover at Warwick or Stratford upon Avon hospitals.

WTE base salary is £23806.44 p.a.

Subject to the Company and individual's performance, an annual discretionary bonus will be awarded.

A benefits package is available to the appointed candidate upon successful completion of the three month probationary period.

Main duties (please read the job description for full details):

Meet and greet Pharmacy visitors and assist with their requirements

Assist in the supply of prescribed items (taking in a prescription and issuing prescribed items)

Assist in accurately bagging up TTOs for the porter delivery to the wards

File completed prescriptions accurately

Assist in the sale of over-the-counter medicines and provide information to customers on symptoms and products

Assist patients with their medication queries, liaising with relevant staff to obtain answers for patients

Be responsible for the safe packing and posting of medicines to patients homes

Hand out medicines, over the counter sales of medicines and relevant retail sales, in a healthcare environment

Process purchase documents on the computer system

Receive and distribute incoming mail for staff

Receive and respond to enquiries from colleagues and external suppliers on the telephone and via email

Check stationery stock levels and re-order as necessary

Provide general administrative support: filing, database management and photocopying as required.

About us

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and provides outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick and Stratford and Nuneaton hospitals.

The pharmacies are busy and operate Monday to Friday. The teams work well under pressure and liaise with hospital pharmacists, consultants and clinical staff to ensure safe and accurate dispensing.

Job responsibilities

Meet and greet Pharmacy visitors and assist with their requirements

Assist in the supply of prescribed items (taking in a prescription and issuing prescribed items)

Offer suggestions to improve the way we work utilising best practices

Maintain excellent working relationships and good communications with patients and Trust employees, and contributes to the teamwork ethic so enabling the best possible service and care to patients

Ensure confidentiality of commercial and clinical information, which may relate to customers, staff, Company policies, prices, business information; and takes account of requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations, and Freedom of Information legislation

Ensure that paperwork is completed accurately and on time, communicates issues as appropriate, and attends meetings as required

Complete stock control procedures and has a basic understanding of the robot functions

Manage their own personal training and development

Adhere to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and all other relevant legislation

Any other relevant duties and training requirements at the request of the line Manager.
