Job summary

As an out of hours (OOH) GP you will carry out medical services with due care and attention, using skills and experience in accordance with good medical practice. The role also involves investigating and diagnosing with a care plan/management to follow as well as medicine management and occasional urgent test management.

Job responsibilities

Are you a GP looking for hours that work around your other commitments? We are looking for a GP who will care for our out of hours patients.

Salary: £103,661 to £124,394 pro rata, depending on experience

Contract: Permanent full time & part time positions available to suit you

What will you be doing

As an out of hours (OOH) GP you will carry out medical services with due care and attention, using skills and experience in accordance with good medical practice.You will triage patients over the phone and make clinical decisions about appropriate care as well as conducting home visits and face-to-face Urgent Care Centre appointments. The role also involves investigating and diagnosing with a care plan/management to follow as well as medicine management and occasional urgent test management.

What do I need

  • Full GMC Registration and licence to practice
  • Up to date Enhanced DBS Certificate (we can apply for one if you aren't a member of the DBS Update Service).
  • Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
  • Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek further advice from colleagues as appropriate.
  • Ability to manage own time and workload in line with SLA's.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively.
  • Ability to communicate in written and spoken English effectively.
  • Competent in the use of IT systems including ADASTRA and EMIS systems.
