Main duties of the job
This is a permanent part time position, supporting
our 15 Sefton Road, Seaforth, Netherton and Litherland practices.
Shifts are from 7.45am to
1.15pm or 1pm to 6.30pm, with options available from Monday to Friday.

As a PC24 medical receptionist, you will be responsible for undertaking
a wide range of reception and administrative duties which include registering
patients, booking appointments, dealing with patient enquiries and ensuring all
information is managed correctly, filed and followed up accordingly.

Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact, and be responsible for, the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for the medical team
- Liaise with multidisciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within the practice
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and other healthcare professionals when communicating with patients. Answer all incoming phone calls, diverting them as appropriate and/or taking and passing on messages in a timely manner.
- Support and assist clinicians in the provision of safe, caring and effective services.
- Deal with administrative queries and requests from patients and act as liaison with the clinicians as necessary.
- Book/cancel/rearrange patient appointments via the clinical system, maintain the appointment system and set up associated templates where required.
- Register new patients, review medical records, input and summarise medical history.
- Ensure up to date patient information is recorded, adding Read codes where appropriate
About you
- Literacy and numeracy skills at GCSE level C or equivalent
- Ability to work flexibly across the week
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Patient focused and act professional at all times
- Able to problem solve and think clearly in pressured situations
- Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft packages
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment and using EMIS is desirable
