Or someone with life experience and the motivation to use that learning to support patients and their loved ones? We are recruiting for an Adult Palliative Care Support Worker (PCSW) to join our Community team. You will be dedicated to providing professional and compassionate emotional support and personal care at the end of life for patients and families within Luton and Bedfordshire. This is a 37.5 hour per week contract consisting of shifts across weekdays (8am-4pm & 1pm-9pm) and weekends (9am-9pm).
Main duties of the job
What You'll Do:
- Provide patient centred care across the community
- Show compassion when communicating with patients and their families
- Support colleagues in providing high-quality palliative and end-of-life care, including pre and post bereavement support.
- Actively engage in the training opportunities to develop your palliative care knowledge and skills
- Recognise the importance of sharing experiences to manage your own wellbeing, and encourage others to do the same
What You'll Need:
- Previous work or personal experience in caring for patients at end of life
- Great communication skills both written and verbal
- Confident to work unsupervised with the ability to prioritise shifting workloads
- Good interpersonal and communication skills working with patients, families, carers and professionals
- Motivated to develop a career in palliative care
- Health Care qualification NVQ Level 2/3 desirable
- Full Driving Licence held for a minimum of 2 years
