To provide a high-quality retail service, supporting the manager to achieve agreed performance targets and standards, including the provision of exceptional customer care, maintaining a professional and enticing shop layout, driving customer loyalty and ensuring the shops present a professional public face of Rainbows Hospice on the high street.

About us

We are currently seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for our Beeston Charity Shop on a part-time basis of 30 hours. You will assist in the management of one of Rainbows shops, deputising for the manager as necessary to achieve agreed income and profit levels by the efficient and effective management of staff, volunteers, premises and stock.

  • Previous experience in a retail environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to implement agreed standards of service in the store.
  • The ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers.
  • Able to work to strict financial guidelines.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills with the ability to monitor and analyse shop statistics.
  • Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety in the Workplace and ability to identify potential risks.
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently but flexibly as part of a team.
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Able to implement agreed policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good planning and logistical skills.
  • Basic level of computer literacy.
  • Ability to prioritise and deal with conflicting work demands.
  • Able to work flexible hours and cover holidays/other absences as necessary in your own and other shops.

  • Physically fit and able to carry large bulky items (in-line with Manual handling training).
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
