Main duties of the job

Were seeking skilled Band 5 Nurses to join our valued clinical care team. Youll be part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team, providing 1:1 nursing care, symptom management, palliative and end-of-life support, and planned short breaks at the hospice. Working alongside Music Therapists, Complementary Therapists, and our Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) team, youll contribute to our holistic approach to care in an environment that encourages personal and professional growth.

About the Role

As a Rainbows Band 5 nurse you'll be responsible for supporting the Deputy Lead Nurse Shift Coordinator in planning and implementing care for children and young people, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, providing symptom management, palliative and end of life care on a 1:1 basis within the hospice.

You will be responsible for:

Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of children and young people in partnership with them and their parents/guardians

Providing excellent short break, palliative, and end of life care at Rainbows in a family centered environment in conjunction with all members of the multi-disciplinary team

Ensuring all procedures are carried out in accordance with local and national policies in force within the Hospice

Requirements:

As an experienced Band 5 Nurse at Rainbows, you'll need to be qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RNCB with post registration experience, relevant placement experience or pre-nurse training care experience.Experience with babies, children and/or young people (0-25 years) with complex needs is also required for the role.

Palliative care experience is desirable; however specialist training and development opportunities will be provided.
