The hospice at home service is working as part of Rainbows hospice for babies, children and young people.
The service is going to be supporting end of life and palliative care for babies, children and young people within their own home, allowing them to experience the amazing Rainbows experience on their doorstep, Rainbows wherever you are.
Rainbows strategy is to deliver the whole Rainbows experience wherever the baby, child or young person and their family want their care to be, focusing on the hospice at Lark Rise, in the hospital or within the community. This means embracing innovation, creativity and investing in our people to deliver outstanding care.
Main duties of the job
In this exciting new role, you will provide clinical care to babies, children and young people with life threatening/life limiting conditions within their own homes, to give parents/carers respite and support.
Come and be part of the amazing community team, supporting the development of Rainbows in the home and being part of an ever-expanding development of service for babies, children and young people.
About the role
The role is full time (37.5 hours per week), however part time would be considered.
This new position is community based, meaning duties will cover 7 days a week, with the flexibility to do nights, upon discussion. You will have the ability to manage your own workload in conjunction with the service lead.
Working within the community you will have the ability to travel across east midlands. Rainbows offer paid mileage and access to company vehicles.

Undertaking assessments and reviews of clinical care and support, whilst being perceptive to changing physical and emotional needs.
- Contribute to leadership, development, training, and planning. Leading and participating in appropriate initiatives to ensure delivery of strategic goals and objectives.
- Day to day line management of the team, including assisting in the appraisal and developmental reviews of staff to set objectives, goals and action plans identifying learning needs and training opportunities.
- Alongside the Lead Nurse maintain an overview of the day-to-day prioritisation of care arrangements for babies, children and young people receiving hospice at home, including on call arrangements and 7 days a week service delivery.
- Ensure that staff are deployed appropriately and that communications with families and carers is consistent and of a high standard.
