Job summary
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an Expert Clinical Advisor to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This pivotal role will provide the clinical leadership and strategic direction needed to shape our vision for innovative, non-profit self-pay services in brain health.
Over the coming months, we will be focusing particularly on long-term conditions, with a strong emphasis on supporting people living with dementia and neurodivergence. The postholder will play a central role in driving this work forward ensuring that our services are not only clinically robust but also impactful, accessible, and transformative for the people we support.
We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking clinical leader who brings passion and expertise in brain health. Applicants must hold an active professional registration and either substantial experience or a strong interest in this field. We welcome interest from a range of disciplinesfor example, GPs with a special interest, clinical neuropsychologists, or professionals with comparable expertise.

Main duties of the job
This role will provide high-level clinical leadership and strategic direction across our self-pay and community care initiatives, combining expert clinical insight with innovative healthcare design for prevention and management of long-term conditions, particularly around brain health. The postholder will lead on management of clinical pathways and clinical staff, oversight of clinical governance, and development of new care models for our long-term condition strategy, particularly in the non-profit self-pay sector.
This is a highly visible leadership role focused on innovation, strategic partnership, continuous quality improvement, and person-centred care.

Strategic Clinical Leadership
- Develop and lead the clinical vision and strategic direction for non-profit self-pay and long-term conditions.
- Provide expert advice to the Enabling Team on clinical strategy, governance, and innovation.
- Act as a clinical ambassador internally and externally, engaging stakeholders nationally and locally.
- Champion resilience in long term condition management, particularly in brain health conditions, and the development of new models of care focused on prevention and personalised approaches.
- Establish clinical frameworks, policies, and governance structures that support excellence in care delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national and regional innovations, pathways, and care models.
Programme Design, Evaluation & Delivery
- Co-design and evaluate healthcare programmes in partnership with communities, NHS bodies, independent/private sector and VCSEs.
- Provide clinical oversight for funded projects, ensuring safe and measurable outcomes.
- Lead service transformation through redesign of clinical pathways and embedding of new care models.
- Support the design and delivery of brain health and multi-morbidity services with a strong equity and inclusion focus.
- Report on clinical efficacy, safety, and quality metrics to the Board and partners.
- Ensure safe and effective clinical staffing, including oversight on recruitment and management of clinical staff.
Clinical Governance & Risk Management
- Oversee clinical governance across all services, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
- Embed a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement.
- Conduct audits and reviews to assess service impact and identify improvement opportunities.
