Job summary

To maintain and enhance the Hospice gardens and grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy and welcoming for patients, relatives, staff, and visitors. The role includes supervising and supporting the existing small team of garden volunteers, collaborating with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and onboard new volunteers, and assisting the Estates team during inclement weather. Duties also include caring for indoor plants, tending the greenhouse and keeping patient patio areas clean and inviting.

The Prince of Wales Hospice is looking for a dedicated Garden & Grounds Assistant to join our Estates and Facilities team. Our gardens provide peaceful, therapeutic spaces for patients, families, visitors and staff, and play an important role in the overall Hospice environment.

You’ll lead on general gardening duties, ensure the grounds are safe and welcoming, and support a team of dedicated garden volunteers. Working closely with our Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll also help recruit and onboard new volunteers. To be successful in this role, you will have:
