About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated healthcare professional with experience in delivering specialist care? The Prince of Wales Hospice is seeking a Lymphoedema Nursing Associate / Assistant Practitioner to join our growing Lymphoedema service.

In this role, you will support patients living with lymphoedema by delivering high-quality, compassionate care – both independently and alongside our experienced Lymphoedema team. Key responsibilities will include:

Delivering treatment including skin care, compression therapy, lymphatic drainage, bandaging, pneumatic compression and kinesio-taping.

Conducting unsupervised clinics for stable patients and supporting review clinics.

Educating patients and carers on self-care and lifestyle practices, with a focus on prevention and long-term wellbeing.

Accurately assessing and monitoring treatment outcomes.

Liaising with internal and external services to ensure holistic patient support.

Participating in wellbeing groups and initiatives.

Main duties of the job

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be:

Qualified Nursing Associate or equivalent in healthcare.

Experienced working independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Skilled in patient communication, including those with barriers to understanding.

Understanding of safe practice environments and professional boundaries.

  • Possess a demonstrable level of theoretical and clinical knowledge of Lymphoedema management
  • Be able to implement specific and appropriate management plans including the setting of timescales
  • Be competent in the practise of Simple Lymphatic Drainage
  • Understand the need to establish and maintain a safe practice environment
  • Excellent communication skills verbal & non-verbal, including tact & persuasion

  • Be competent in the application of compression garments and lymphoedema bandaging
