Main duties of the job
Main purpose of job:
To create an environment of patient-focused high-quality care, defining standards, managing and developing a team of Registered Nurses and Unregistered support staff.
To lead and develop nursing workforce across the Hospice promoting the organisations vision and values.
To promote clinical effectiveness and evidence-based practice in all areas of patient care.
The post holder will be an expert knowledge base for consultation, training and service development.
The post holder will work independently and with the Director of Clinical Services to identify current issues and new developments in nursing, palliative and end of life care and advise on their application to practice.
To contribute to the development and delivery of the Hospice Strategy and clinical work plans as part of the senior clinical and nurse team.
To ensure the framework and resources are in place to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care, encouraging MDT working to continue to be at the heart of the inpatient service.
Strong professional leadership to deliver care and ensure all professionals are engaged and involved.
Ensure staffing levels are safe and effective and deliver quality of care.
Build innovation and excellence through a structured approach to clinical research, development and evidence-based practice.
Utilise feedback from patients, families and staff to continue to develop services.
Promote continuity of care between inpatient and community specialist palliative care.

We are recruiting a dynamic, motivated and skilled Nurse Ward Manager to join our forward-thinking team. We are looking for someone with the passion to drive forward high-quality care with a patient safety focus, and an enthusiasm to support service developments.
In this pivotal role, you will embrace and model our vision, values, and behaviours to cultivate a compassionate clinical environment where patient-centered care is consistently safe, effective, and well-led. The role will require day to day line management responsibilities together with the ability to think strategically to drive improvements to specialist End of Life Care to meet the needs of our changing communities.
The successful candidate will provide supportive, innovative, and transformational clinical leadership to our In-care team, wider employees, volunteers, and stakeholders. The role will require a compassionate leader who models our values to ensure our patients, families and their carers receive quality loving care.
The role requires someone with a passion to achieve high standards of care and work in a collaborative way internally as part of the joint leadership team, and externally with system partners to support people to achieve their goals and what matters to them.
