Hours: 25 Salary: £25,958.40 per annum, with progression to £28.662.40 per annum pro rata + unsociable hours pay Location: Folkestone Safe Haven, 3 Rendezvous Street Folkestone CT20 1EY Do you want to have a positive impact on your local community? We are looking for passionate people to join our team of Crisis Recovery Workers (CRW) supporting clients in our community mental health drop-in service. Our goal is to support with de-escalation of immediate mental health crises and to work towards a higher sense of safety, social inclusion and independence through emotional support, safety-planning and signposting. We want to destigmatise mental health and the need for support whilst reducing the need of clients visiting A&E or having emergency service involvement. Our service is open out-of-hours, 365 days a year and open to people 18+ in the local area. We are open 6-11pm daily. About the role As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will provide a high-quality, recovery-focused support to those accessing our service. Our clients have a range of mental health conditions and other support needs. Our goal is to inspire, engage, and motivate people, promoting independence and social inclusion within and beyond the Safe Haven. The role will involve working with clients on an individual level to provide tailored emotional support, identifying current barriers and working towards more long-term feelings of safety and wellbeing. You will support with facilitating activities within the service and in the local community, administrative tasks, signposting and engaging people in other services. You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSWs), who have lived experience, to achieve the best person-centred care with our clients for their recovery. This may involve working with other services or learning and practicing skills and coping mechanisms within the service.
Our current team of crisis recovery workers have been with us from 1-4 years.We are a non-clinical service, providing support to reduce immediate distress to those at risk of self-harm, suicide or experiencing trauma.Our service provides information, safety planning and signposting for clients, their families and carers to meet their holistic needs.We work closely with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services, and partners agencies. About you You will have experience working with Mental Health in an inspiring and engaging way. You can identify barriers and understand client needs. Understanding how to support people with various complex needs, including mental health diagnoses, learning and physical disabilities and substance misuse would be an advantage for this post. This role requires applicants to have good written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to enable you to meet clients where they are and provide tailored support.
