Deputy Service Manager

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team in NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies. We are looking for an experienced person to provide support to the Service Manager with operational leadership of the service. The Deputy Service Manager will be responsible for supporting the Service Manager and Clinical Lead in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, responsive and accessible NHS Talking Therapies service.

Main duties of the job

Take responsibility for the management of service delivery on a day to day basis and to manage this in accordance with contracts to meet specified outcomes. Work with the Data Lead and Deputy Clinical Lead to actively review and performance monitor KPI's and other contractual targets. Propose remedial actions to Service Manager and Clinical Lead and assist in implementation of these, where required. On a daily basis take responsibility for service Social Media by reviewing and responding to comments. Work with the Office Manager to provide support and supervision for administrators responsible for monitoring and posting on service social media accounts. Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of all policies, procedures and systems relating to service delivery. Work closely with the Locality Managers to promote and provide operational advice on the service(s) by attending meetings with and providing talks and presentations to all stakeholders. Work alongside the Deputy Clinical Lead to develop, maintain and enhance working partnerships with referral agencies e.g. GPs. Work with the Locality Managers in the recruitment of staff and volunteers and to be responsible for ensuring their induction, supervision and appraisal are in accordance with MHM Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in a business/ management qualification and/or accredited with a professional psychological therapy.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing a Team within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of providing direct line management.
  • Experienced in performance managing members of staff.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of stepped care and IAPT.
  • Liaises and works with statutory and non statutory organisations.
  • Worked indirectly with vulnerable adults and/or local communities
  • Demonstrates a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards a changing environment.
  • Experience of working with Social Media in a business environment or a willingness to
  • undertake training.
  • Experienced in developing business plans/proposals for service improvement.
