Job summary

Medway Haven is seeking management cover for the night shift of our crisis service. The service will be providing a crisis alternative to A and E through non-clinical, person centered support and recovery interventions.

Main duties of the job

* To ensure the delivery of high-quality recovery focused support to clients within a designated service/location. * To actively promote the service, managing all client focussed activity within a designated service / location, including; assessment and management of referrals, voids management (housing), needs assessment, support planning, risk management and safety planning and regular review of need. . * To ensure completion of all My Future Matters documentation or other relevant client management information. * To ensure that all incidents and safeguarding concerns are managed in line with MHM policies and procedures. * To proactively liaise with the relevant Area Manager ensuring the timely escalation of any issues which may affect the safety and quality of service provision. * To provide appropriate support and line management for staff members within relevant team/s, including the provision of induction, supervision, appraisal, development, absence and performance management in line with MHM's policies and procedures. * To ensure that staffing resources and capacity is adequate to deliver high quality services to clients and to meet contractual requirements, including recruitment of new staff and management of the staff rota. * To ensure that all financial authorisation procedures are adhered to. * To communicate effectively and to provide reports and associated documentation of a high standard to management and commissioners as required.

Hours of work: 37.5 seeking night shift cover. Service opening hours: 24 hours, 365 days a year, Salary: £28,500 with progression up to £31,500 per annum, Pro rota Base: Medway safe haven, Portacabin, Medway maritime hospital, Windmill road, Gillingham. Medway Haven is seeking management cover for the night shift of our crisis service. The service will be providing a crisis alternative to A and E through non-clinical, person centered support and recovery interventions. About the role As a Team Manager you will be required to provide a welcoming, safe, supportive, and non-clinical environment that promotes opportunities for our recovery focused service to clients who have a range of mental health needs. You will establish links to the crisis and home treatment teams, hospital liaison, street triage and other partners to promote independence and social inclusion. With experience of working within a community based, mental health setting, you should be able to inspire, engage and motivate people. With the proven ability to identify barriers, understand need and support people to achieve their goals the role will include one to one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, sign posting and engaging people in other provision. You will work with a team of colleagues, including Crisis Recovery Workers (CRWs), Peer Support Workers (PSW), Volunteers and Clinicians to achieve the best person-centered care with the patient for their recovery, whether that be joint working with other services to support them to make reasonable adjustments or providing opportunities for clients to learn and practice skills. About you You will have experience of working in a Mental Health setting, with knowledge of Primary and Secondary Care pathways, and will be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills. This will include one to one engagement and facilitating group-based activities, sign posting and engaging people in mainstream provision. You will have an understanding of working with people with a variety of complex needs and will be able demonstrate your ability to prioritize caseloads and have an understanding of the principles of the Care and Mental Health Act. Your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role. As this role includes leading a team, you will have experience of leading, managing, coaching and mentoring colleagues and have excellent communication and internal skills.
