Salary: £35,500 with progression up to £39,500 per annum

Working as part of a fast paced and evolving team, the Business Support function has a varying remit providing support across all MHM services nationally. Our key focus is Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Business Support, Information Governance, Path to Net Zero, MHM's Intranet and Head Office Management.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and passionate team, to lead our Information Governance and Risk Management provision.
About the role
You will be responsible for leading on MHM's Information Governance Framework and Risk Management Framework. The Information and Risk Lead will act as MHM's Data Protection Officer and subject matter expert; informing and advising all employees of obligations to comply with the UK GDPR and other data protection laws.
Information Governance is a standards-based approach to improving the way in which organisations manage and share information. The role of the Information and Corporate Risk Lead is to develop and lead the Information Governance work programme for the organisation, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, Network & Information Systems Regulations 2018, the requirements of the NHS Data Security and Protection (DSP) Toolkit and other relevant standards, guidance, and legislation.
You will lead the development of MHMs risk management framework, and ensure this is embedded and delivered effectively, identifying high priority risks, and providing support to risk owners to manage mitigation and reduce overall risk to MHM.
About you
You will be suitably qualified and have practical experience of developing and leading integrated governance frameworks in the Health and Social Care sector and demonstrate previous experience of working as a Data Protection Officer. Substantial evidence of applying effective information governance practices within an organisation handing personal data is essential, whilst demonstrating an understanding of how complex information & communication technology systems support a business.
The successful candidate will have experience of using evidence-based approach's to making informed decisions and be able to demonstrate excellent report writing skills. Successful delivery of risk management frameworks is essential, with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the business.
You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, be able to work independently as required but also be able to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills. You will have a flexible attitude and the ability to cope within a demanding environment with a varied workload where accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
It is essential that you hold a relevant degree or equivalent, have experience of developing and leading governance frameworks, and are willing to develop further as the role requires.
