Main duties of the job
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sexual Health and Contraception Nurse to join our team. You will deliver safe, client-centered sexual and reproductive healthcare, ensuring excellence in both clinical practice and patient experience. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing contraception, STI testing and treatment, sexual health advice, and health promotion.
Essential criteria
First level Registered Nurse or Midwife with NMC Registration
Has a recognised contraception qualification (DFSRH / ENB 901 or equivalent academic accreditation)
Has the Sexually Transmitted Infection Foundation,Intermediate Integrated Course, equivalent academic course, in house competency or willingness to work towards
Competent in removal and insertion of subdermal implants and has the Letter of Competence in Subdermal implants or completion of SDI training within 6 months of commencing post
Understanding of communication skills required to work with a diverse client group including those with complex needs that can include disability and communication difficulties
Experience in Contraception and Sexual Health work with specialist knowledge
Has experience of working autonomously, undertaking holistic assessments and completing care episodes within guidelines
Experience of working within patient group directions
