Job summary

We are 4 Day Week employer Purpose of the role

To provide psychosexual therapy to individuals and couples, who are experiencing a sexual dysfunction with a psychological, emotional or relationship component, within the specified referral pathway.

Main duties of the job

To provide psychosexual counselling assessment and formulation to a variety of patients presenting with a range of clinical severity • To plan and implement short- and long-term treatments programmes with mild, moderate, and complex clinical work within the timescales of the service specification • To provide psychosexual counselling to individuals/couples experiencing sexual difficulties and to work holistically in the context of the individual/couples lives • Ensure the service is accessible for all service-users, including those who are deemed vulnerable, marginalised, under-represented and/or disadvantaged. • Assist in developing the referral pathways for the psychosexual service. • To triage referrals to ensure they are appropriate for the service • To evaluate psychosexual therapeutic interventions for individuals and couples and make clinical decisions for treatment, referral, and discharge of patients. • {To manage own caseload and be legally and professionally responsible for own work.} • To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individuals/couples and refer to additional services as appropriate. • To ensure a therapeutically safe environment for clients by promoting confidentiality, privacy, and physical and emotional safety within Brook policy and procedures • To maintain full accurate records on the Electronic Patient Records. • To advise on and liaise with patients GPs as appropriate about medical interventions and/or prescriptions that are deemed suitable and appropriate. • To share sensitive information in a manner appropriate and in context to psychosexual therapy to the patient, GPs or other specialists, as required or indicated, following process and policy. • To undertakes a minimum of 1.5 hours of 1-1 clinical supervision monthly.
