Main duties of the job
Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality services to clients, by providing contraception and sexual health services to young people in line with excellent clinical practise and undertaking practical training and theoretical study (from a Brook approved course provider) to become a CASH Health Nurse on completion.
Essential Criteria:
• Current Nurse and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered Nurse (Sub part 1 of the NMC register)/Registered Midwife
• Ability to undertake the required Contraception and Sexual Health (CASH) qualifications, in relation to course study requirements including time and travel commitments • Commitment to the aims, values and purposes of Brook and the people in the communities in which we work. • Able to work to the service rota, to meet the needs of the service, including weekends /evenings • Ability to recognise when to seek more senior advice or assistance • Experience of using IT systems to input, store and retrieve client data • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and contribute effectively with internal/external multi professional teams demonstrating effective leadership skills •Ability to communicate effectively with young people demonstrating an awareness and understanding of the diverse range of issues affecting young people, especially in the area of sexual development and personal relationships • Ability to understand boundaries, and work in a sensitive, confidential and non judgmental way with young people.
