Job summary
An exciting opportunity has
become available to work as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
(PWP) within the Sunderland Psychological Wellbeing Service. The PWP team is
made up of a Low Intensity Service Lead, five Senior PWPs and a number of both
qualified and Trainee PWPs. Our PWP workforce is a valuable and highly
respected element of the service.

Main duties of the job
In
this role you will:
- Attend regular line management, case management and clinical skills
supervision.
- Complete triage appointments with service users each week and make
clinical decisions based on information gathered.
- Carry out evidence based interventions via telephone, video call and
face-to-face guided self-help, Computerised CBT and psycho-educational
classes
- Work closely with other PWPs to support one another and utilise skills
and knowledge
- Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team
- Attend CPD events
- Get involved with service development projects and specialist interest
groups
All PWPs must have a current registration with BPS or BABCP and maintain this throughout their employment at a yearly cost.
About us
Sunderland Psychological
Wellbeing Service is a dedicated and dynamic team that offers a range of
psychological therapies to treat people and support their recovery within a
stepped care model. The service is delivered within an integrated model of Primary
Care Mental Health and Improving Access to Psychological therapy (IAPT) and is
provided by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust and Sunderland
Counselling Service. Sunderland Counselling Service is a subcontractor to the
CNTW NHS and is the employer of this PWP post.
We are recognised as a high achieving service which is well known for providing a supportive and enjoyable work place experience, where our staff are valued. We provide high quality clinical and managerial supervision, as well as regular access to CPD and personal development opportunities. We are also committed to enhancing and maintaining the wellbeing of our PWP workforce.
Successful applicants will be
employed by Sunderland Counselling Service. The post holders will be based at
both Monkwearmouth Hospital and Rosewood (Hopewood Park), along with other
bases across Sunderland. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to
work flexibly between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and some possible
Saturdays. Home working is still currently part of our working week however
this may change depending on service need and CNTW trust guidance. This is not
a remote working contact.
