Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join our friendly and supportive Lambeth Together Training & Development Hub to lead and manage our workforce development and professional education offer to support our strategic ambition for education and meet the aims of our workforce development plan.

To be successful in this role you will need to form close working partnerships with professional and operational leads to understand Lambeths Primary Care workforce development priorities and work together to implement workforce planning solutions. In this role you will be supported by a dedicated Administrator and will also have support from the wider LTTDH Core team.

We are keen to hear from experienced applicants but also for someone to learn and grow into this role. It would be great if you have strong experience in the provision of workforce development and education commissioning and managing CPD budgets but if your knowledge is only in one of these areas, we are still keen to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Plan and co-ordinate the delivery of direct funding commissions, prioritising the non- medical workforce (eg reception, practice managers, HCAs and nurses)

Manage all aspects of funding, including writing bids for funding available at short notice.

Evaluate feedback and effectiveness of specific workforce development initiatives, to inform future commissioning decisions

Undertake workforce audits and primary care training needs analysis as required, but at least annually

Excellent communication with practices, with a deep understanding of workforce issues and levers to facilitate workforce transformation (eg. negotiating on AHP tariff)

Develop and deliver a monthly newsletter to all practices, highlighting upcoming CPPD opportunities and promoting the workforce transformation agenda

Identify funding opportunities and write workforce project proposals for submission (eg HEE, LTTDH and/or Federation, HIN)

Project manage and write reports for specific workforce projects

Work with the Lead Nurse to support and promote nurse mentorship, the GPN Programme and other initiatives

The Lambeth Together Training & Development Hubs (LTTDH) focus is on delivering and co-ordinating continuous personal & professional development (CPPD) as well as some more innovative workforce transformation projects.

LTTDH has been developed to take on devolved responsibility from HEE via BETH to manage the training and education of our existing and future community and primary care workforce locally to:

Meet the needs of our community

Provide integrated high quality population based healthcare

Support workforce development.

Expand opportunities to build workforce capacity & capability within primary care.
