Job summary
The Neurodivergence Coordinator is a specialised
non-clinical role designed to support patients navigating the diagnostic
pathways for ADHD and Autism. You will be the primary point of contact for
patients considering a diagnosis, guiding them through pre-assessment
screening, managing the administrative aspects of referrals, and providing
compassionate support while they wait.
You will work closely with
the Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT) to ensure patient safety, whilst
also building a robust network of local third-sector resources to help patients
live well with neurodivergence.
Main duties of the job
Pre-Diagnostic Support & Screening
Conduct initial consultations (telephone or
face-to-face) with patients enquiring about neurodevelopmental conditions.
Explain the diagnostic pathway, including NHS
waiting times and "Right to Choose" providers, managing expectations
realistically.
Distribute and assist patients in completing
necessary self-assessment tools (e.g., ASRS-v1.1, WEISS, AQ-10/50).
Gather necessary collateral information, such as
school reports, family history forms, and observer reports.

- Experience: Experience working in a healthcare, social care, or pastoral education setting.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of ADHD, Autism, and the concept of Neurodiversity.
- Skills: Excellent administrative skills with the ability to manage complex pathways and paperwork.
- Soft Skills: High levels of empathy, patience, and the ability to listen without judgment.
- Boundaries: Ability to work within the limits of a non-clinical role and recognize when to escalate clinical risks.
Desirable
- Lived Experience: Personal experience with neurodivergence (self or family) is highly valued.
- Systems: Experience with clinical systems (SystmOne).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with NHS "Right to Choose" legislation and the localized Lincolnshire mental health landscape.
