Minor illness practitioner - Winter Access Service

Job summary

IMP Healthcare PCN are advertising for a group of practitioners with NMC or HCPC registrations to work in our Winter Access hub, October to February 2026.

These clinics will be running 10am - 8pm Monday - Friday on a weekly basis.

Full and part time hours available.

IMP Healthcare consists of 9 GP practices in and around Lincoln. The successful candidates will be required to work from different locations.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake clinical assessment and treatment of patients attending the same day access service.
  • To provide a face-to-face service to manage on the day demand.
  • To exercise a high degree of professional autonomy and work closely as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Function in a dynamic way ready to adjust to the changing needs of the client group.
  • To provide a Minor Illness Service including prescribing medications as appropriate to your prescribing qualification.

About us

The successful candidates will be working under the guidance of the PCN clinical directors, these roles will require the practitioners to confidently run and manage their own clinics with autonomy.

  • To put the patient at ease and ask appropriate questions in a manner that he/she can understand in order to inform a clinical assessment.
  • To use guidelines and professional knowledge and expertise to inform an assessment of the clients health and presenting problem.
  • On the basis of assessment to treat or refer the client to the appropriate practitioner or service. Responding quickly to emergency or urgent situations.
  • To prescribe suitable medication as appropriate to your prescribing qualification
  • To provide advice and information in appropriate non-clinical language to empower clients to undertake self-care of their presenting clinical condition.
  • To maintain accurate and timely record of all clinical consultations and ensure that your Professional code of conduct is adhered to.
  • To maintain and develop professional practice, knowledge, skills, and expertise to meet the needs of the practice.
  • To establish effective networks with other health professionals and outside agencies.
