Job summary

Berkshire Primary Care are a GP Federation working on behalf of multiple GP practices in Bracknell and Ascot areas. One of the many services we provide is out Extended Access Clinics which run in the evenings during the weekend, and on Saturdays.

We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to join our team.

Main duties of the job

Performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples, ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.

Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers with accurate labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity. Checking patient identification against GP/Nurse request and confirming with patient. Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in EMIS. Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion. Observing all infection control procedures.

About us

Extended access clinics operate Monday to Friday at Boundary House in Bracknell from 18:30 - 20:30pm, and on Saturdays 08:00-14:00. Clinics at Brook House operate Saturdays 0800-12:00. Flexibility to work at either site would be preferable.
