Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Head of Finance to join our team based in Oswestry.  Join us at Hope House Children’s Hospices by playing a vital role in achieving ‘Our Mission’: Helping every child with a life-threatening condition live their best life.

This is a full time permanent role with the option of some hybrid working to have a real work life balance.

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,772 - £67,081 (FTE) per annum plus car allowance and benefits.

Main duties of the job

About the Head of Finance role:

The Head of Finance will be operationally responsible for the financial processes and governance of the charity and provide timely and relevant insight and analysis to influence decision making and performance. 

Managing the Finance team, you will lead on all accounting activities in accordance with the Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP), and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including HMRC, the Charity Commission and the Gambling Commission. You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Director of Finance & Transformation to propose the financial strategy and budgets for the organisation to the Board of Trustees, and act as the principal liaison with the appointed auditors.

What we are looking for a Head of Finance who:

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a depth of relevant financial management experience, strong leadership skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team to deliver the charity’s vision.  You will be a strategic thinker who is able to clearly interpret and present complex information to different audiences. You will have extensive familiarity with financial systems and be an expert in using Microsoft Excel.
