Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Lead Physiotherapist to join our team based Conwy. You will join us on a full-time , permanent basis, although part-time working of 30 hours per week will be considered. In return, our Lead Physiotherapist will receive a competitive salary of £42,389 to £47,960 per annum.

We’re a charity that cares for children with serious conditions, who aren’t expected to live longer than early adulthood. Your role will be based in our bright, homely, active and supportive hospice, where you will make a real difference and help the children enjoy the best possible quality of life and be as comfortable, happy and fulfilled as they can.

About the Ty Gobaith Lead Physiotherapist role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and dedicated Lead Physiotherapist to join our supportive multi professional care team at our Hospice in Conwy. We are a centre of excellence offering a fully equipped child centred environment set in beautiful spacious grounds with views overlooking the Conwy Estuary.

In your role as Lead Physiotherapist you will be passionate about the specialty of neurological, respiratory physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, with experience in palliative care and paediatrics.

Your role will involve offering high quality assessments and therapeutic treatment plans and take an ongoing educational and advisory role to include manual handling, sharing your knowledge and expertise with the care teams and families.  Your role with us will involve using your specialist clinical and communication skills to help support children and young people. 

This incredibly fulfilling role offers our Lead Physiotherapist the time with children and young people to provide holistic, person centred care, where they can see their work making a real difference.

You will be working within a team that supports you to develop both professionally and personally, through an extensive training package, regular supervision, appraisal and ongoing support.

What we are looking for a Lead Physiotherapist who:

• Extensive knowledge of the needs of children and young people with lifelimiting conditions and children’s palliative care.
• Expert knowledge of respiratory assessment and physiotherapy management
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a diverse workload with constantly shifting demands and also to monitor the workload of others

Essential

• <p>The qualifications that are key for this role include:</p>
• <p>A degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy</p>
• <p>Registered with the HPCP</p>
• <p>Completed, studying or willing to complete a post graduate qualification in a palliative care related subject</p>
• <p>A recognised leadership or management qualification</p>
• <p>Manual handling training qualification</p>
• <p>The essential knowledge that you will require for this role includes:</p>
• <p>Extensive knowledge of the needs of children and young people with life-</p>
• <p>limiting conditions and children&rsquo;s palliative care.</p>
• <p>An Understanding of the Children&rsquo;s Hospice Movement, including the current and future challenges facing children&rsquo;s palliative care.</p>
• <p>Comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the health, community and social care sectors</p>
• <p>Evidence of multidisciplinary team working.</p>
• <p>Evidence of knowledge of current legislation relating to children and young people.</p>
• <p>Expert knowledge of respiratory assessment and physiotherapy management</p>
• <p>Comprehensive knowledge of therapy equipment e.g. seating, standing, mobility and handling, in relation to Activities of Daily Living</p>
• <p>Experience of therapeutic aqua therapy</p>
• <p>Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation</p>
• <p>Documented evidence of continued professional development.</p>
• <p>Knowledge of resource management</p>
• <p>A sound understanding of consent, GDPR and confidentiality management</p>
