Job responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST

To support the smooth running of the head office

To have primary responsibility for answering and directing incoming calls

The post holder will take on the role of TeamNet Champion for the organisation

Monitor and undertake a number of daily, weekly & monthly checks as described on TeamNet

Assist the Finance Manager with book keeping responsibilities

Manage and record supplies for the purpose of stock-taking

Manage the eRS Worklist

OPERATIONS

Taking of minutes for the organisations operational meetings.

Processing of incoming eRS referrals for Ear Micro-suction service and contacting patients to book appointments.

Support the Assistant Federation Manager with service delivery, i.e. rearranging appointments, liaising with practices regarding inappropriate bookings, ensure blood test forms are on ICE for phlebotomy clinics and where they are not contact the practices requesting these are added in time for a patients appointment

Support the Federation Manager with HR tasks such as: chasing references, ensure all necessary paperwork received from new employees, liaising with PCN staff around potentially new employees, filing

GENERAL DUTIES

Processing confidential patient information.

Contacting patients with appointment times.

Gain an understanding of coordinating workload to capacity.

To work autonomously, managing own workload effectively referring to line manager when necessary.

To adhere to all Curo Health Policies and Procedures.

Participate and ensure own on-going development.

To maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with the Data Protection Act. Be aware of the nature of information dealt with and work in a manner which ensures confidentiality and security.

Undertake any other activities deemed appropriate and necessary by the organisation.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES WITHIN THE ORGANISATION

Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Curo Health policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety

A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice

Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation

Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records

Contributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data

Attending training and events organised by Curo Health or other agencies, where appropriate.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

• Proficient user of Microsoft office packages (word, excel including use of formulas, e-mail as a minimum)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent telephone manner
• Ability to prioritise & manage own workload
• Friendly, helpful and can do approach
• Ability to carry out work accurately to specified deadlines
• Close attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Able to work under pressure
• Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Desirable

• Previous experience working within the NHS
• Experience of TPP Systmone
• Experience of data/statistical collection
• Ability to motivate and encourage staff
• Ability to delegate and prioritise workload

Qualifications

Essential

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Good standard of general education

Desirable

• ECDL or equivalent
• NVQ Business Administration
