Job summary

The Retreat Clinics York are recruiting a Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary neurodevelopmental team to work within our adult autism service.

We are a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation seeking a clinician who can bring a high level of experience working with neurodiverse people. You will deliver diagnostic assessments for autism and also offer psychological therapy for neurodivergent people.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will form part of the multi-disciplinary team involved in the diagnostic process for autism, completing the standardised assessments involved in this process. The candidate will also provide tailored psychological therapy for neurodivergent people, informed by NICE guidelines.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about neuro-affirmative practice when working with neurodivergent people. This role provides exciting opportunities for consultation with the neurodivergent community and maintaining/developing links with other services/organisations to ensure we always provide high quality neuro-affirmative care.

We are seeking someone who has excellent communication skills and understands the specific communication and sensory needs of neurodivergent people and adopts an approach that helps tofacilitate positive therapeutic relationships. The candidate will have good team working skills and experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
