Job summary

We are looking for someone to join our welcoming and friendly team to provide receptionist and administrative support to the day to day running of North West Leicestershire GP.

We are able to offer part-time shifts with the following options: 08:00-14:30 or 14:00-20:30. The salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

The role will report to the Head of Service Delivery and work alongside lead clinicians, practice managers and the wider Federation team.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing a friendly and welcoming reception service for patients (mostly via telephone calls) and carrying out essential administrative functions such as managing queries and appointment bookings on SystmOne, as well as supporting general administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the service.

About us

North West Leicestershire GP Limited is a federation of 12 General Practices who work collaboratively to offer services at scale for our patients. The Federation is responsible for the running of the North West Leicestershire Primary Care Network which offers services to approximately 116,000 patients.

Interviews for this role are likely to take place week commencing 20th April 2026.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Providing a friendly, welcoming reception service for patients (mostly via telephone calls)

Accurately collecting information from patients

Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner

Booking, cancelling, or amending appointments on SystmOne

Supporting the effective running of clinics

Sending follow up information to registered GP practices

Completing daily audits to document numbers of patients attending

Supporting with the coordination and delivery of MDTs within PCNs

Responding to and directing telephone calls, including taking messages when required

Monitoring of the Federations email accounts

Opening and distributing incoming post

Providing clear communication to patients and their carers in order to ensure that people have good quality information about PCN services

Support with any administrative duties for internal services, including appointment booking, rota management, photocopying, filing, faxing and other office routines

Supporting with CQC registration activities including preparing for inspection

Escalating any issues to the appropriate person

Providing cross cover within team during absence, complying with relevant organisational policy on attendance

To undertake statutory and mandatory training as deemed appropriate

To develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues

To adhere to all Federation policies and procedures

The post holder may be required to travel to various sites within our PCN. Therefore it is essential the individual possesses a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
