Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join the
North West Leicestershire GP Federation to support the Primary Care Network, as part of our Clinical Pharmacist
Team. Clinical Pharmacists are supported and mentored by our Senior Clinical
Pharmacist and Leadership Team, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
in a patient-facing environment. You would be supported to develop your role
and to become a non-medical prescriber, if not already. The post holder will be employed by
North West Leicestershire Federation and this position would be based at one of the GP practices within the PCN.
Main duties of the job
You will take responsibility for medicines management,
clinical medication reviews, improving prescribing processes and patient safety
alerts. The post holder will be the primary support to general practice staff
with regards to drugs monitoring, helping to support the repeat prescription
system and dispensing team. You will work with the
wider GP Federation Pharmacy team and will be joining a dynamic, forward-thinking team. This is an opportunity to develop
yourself, and successful candidates will be required and supported to enrol onto
(if not already completed) CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy education pathway and, following this, an Independent Prescribing qualification.

GP Practices covering 116,000 patients. The GP Federation operates the North
West Leicestershire Primary Care Network which is the largest within Leicester,

framework and enhanced services.
The
post holder will ensure that the practice integrates with community and
hospital pharmacy to help utilise skill mix, improve patient outcomes, ensure
better access to healthcare and help manage workload. The role is pivotal to
improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies so requires
motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within general practice.
