Main duties of the job

Here at Andys our Palliative Care Nurses are at the heart of everything we do in helping us to deliver the best possible care to our families. We are therefore, looking for talented individuals who share our passion to improve the lives of children and young people with a variety of complex health conditions. Essential

  • Extensive post registration experience
  • Proven ability to supervise staff
  • Fully aware of regulatory safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Fully aware of regulatory Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties.

Desirable

  • Experience in Paediatric palliative care
  • Management experience

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Understanding of Childrens Palliative and End of Life Care
  • Knowledge of assessment, care planning and review process and pathways
  • Awareness of regulatory safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Awareness of application of the Mental Capacity Act
  • Good interpersonal skills and team working skills
  • To be able to evidence good decision making skills
  • Awareness of general pain and symptom management guidelines, desirable
  • To be confident in using information technology including use of SystmOne - desirable
