Job summary

The role of the childhood immunisation administrator is to support the childhood immunisation lead (CIL) who will contribute to the realisation of the London Immunisation Strategy and the improvement in uptake to meet the national targets for the vaccination programmes in Redbridge

The post holder will work for and be directed by the CIL in contributing to developing systems immunisation services at a local level aiming to eradicate vaccine preventable disease from London

The post holder will work as a valued member of the primary care team supporting CIL in the introduction of new immunisation programmes including Covid or extensions to existing ones, in line with national requirements.

The role supports the delivery of best practice and addressing inequalities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will report and is accountable to the Childhood Immunisation Lead. The post holder will work to support delivery of the NHS London Immunisation Strategies in synergy with primary care contacts and local stakeholders. She/he will be expected to travel across the borough as part of the day-to-day role. A key outcome of this role in each borough is to improve uptake of immunisation, both childhood and adult.

work with identified local practices on data recording for vaccinations.

Work on call/recall with local practices.

Under the direction of the CIL Improve competencies of practice staff on vaccination services & increase confidence levels.

Under the direction of the CIL and supporting the CIL to Develop and Implement healthcare professional initiatives that are required for the local area.

Share good practices with extended stakeholders

Assist the CIL with the creation of the quarterly reports to Immunisation Performance and Quality Boards
