The Kingston GP Federation (Kingston GP Chambers) is looking to recruit a fantastic Healthcare Assistant on behalf of Sunray Surgery in Surbiton.
This role will be part-time, working a maximum of 27.5 hours per week subject to agreement across the week.
Sunray surgery is a well established GP Practice based in Surbiton. They excel in offering high quality compassionate health care to around 5,000 patients in a friendly welcoming setting.
The main role of the Healthcare Assistant is to assist the Nursing Team in providing a range of quality health and personal care services to patients in a professional, efficient and courteous manner, to meet individual needs.

Kingston GP Chambers is a Federation of all NHS General Practices within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. It was founded in 2008 as a limited company whose shareholders are all 20 GP Practices within Kingston. The company is led by a Board of Directors who are also GP Partners in their own Practices within Kingston.

The Kingston GP Federation (Kingston GP Chambers) is recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant on behalf of Sunray Surgery in Tolworth.
The main role of the Healthcare Assistant is to assist the Nursing Team in providing a range of quality health and personal care services to patients in a professional, efficient and courteous manner, to meet individual needs
Clinical Responsibilities
- Measurement of height, weight and BMI, and urinalysis.
- Administration of injections under the supervision of the Practice nurse team using a Patient Specific Directive (after completing a HCA immunisation foundation course).
- Measurement of blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiratory rate.
- Peak flow measurement and Spirometry.
- Fitting and recording of ECGs, 24 hour blood pressure monitors for patients.
- Ear irrigation
- NHS health checks
- Flu vaccinations
- Hearing tests
Additional duties
- Undertake other clinical activities identified by the Practice Nurses in accordance with written protocols
- To report all matters pertaining to patient care (ie: changes in condition/circumstances) to a relevant member of the nursing or medical team and ensure that the appropriate documentation is made
- To be responsible for ensuring consulting rooms are at all times kept stocked, clean and orderly and that relevant equipment is ready for use by nursing and medical staff during clinic sessions. This includes cleaning and sterilising of instruments and ensuring equipment is correctly maintained
- Ensure the drug refrigerator is at correct temperature on a daily basis and that drugs are within their expiry dates and used in the correct sequence
- To assist clinicians in emergency management of patients
- To act as chaperone if required.
- To assist patients in their usage of Practice equipment, including toilet facilities
- To enable patients to access appropriate professionals in the Practice teams.
- To be responsible for the supply of relevant health promotion literature/materials in the waiting areas and consulting rooms, ensuring stocks are maintained
- To participate in audit as required (note sampling, data input and information gathering)
- Completion of forms
- Liaise with other health care professionals
