Job summary
Sunray Surgery is a progressive, and friendly training practice with a patient list size in excess of 5,000 patients. Sunray is based in Tolworth, which is well served by local transport links and amenities on the nearby high street. The surgery was acquired by Kingston GP Chambers (GP federation of Kingston) in April 2023 and have ambitious plans of increasing the patient list size following regeneration of the surrounding area.
The practice has achieved a rating of good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and sits within the Chessington and Surbiton Primary Care Network.
We are looking for a team-orientated GP to join the surgery working a minimum of 4 sessions per week. The successful GP would be joining an enthusiastic and supportive team of salaried GPs, nurses, HCAs and excellent administrative workforce.
There is scope for the successful post-holder to incorporate educational sessions to undergraduate medical students and nurses as part of the Kingston Education Centre. The Education Centre is highly regarded and has built wonderful relations with local education institutions playing an important role in developing undergraduate students from a range of different universities.
Main duties of the job
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated
and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of
illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and
in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and
referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed
standards
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat
prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)

- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the
post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of
duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and
queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat
prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a
timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to
presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health
care workers within the organisation
