Were looking for experienced,
highly motivated nurses to join our great team of palliative and end of life
care Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS).
Working as
part of a supportive and integrated clinical team, covering
East Surrey and West Sussex, you will make a difference to local patients and
their families by offering expert advice and care seven days a week including
face to face scheduled visits, telephone support with occasional out of hours
visits. Delivering specialist palliative care to people at the end of life,
youll have shared clinical responsibility for patients referred to the
hospice, supported by our Community Manager.
Main duties of the job
A confident decision-maker, youll
have the passion to always improve and advance and be happy to be part of a
rota system with colleagues to provide 7 days a week cover. This makes sure
there is always someone available on our telephone line to support our patients
and their families. Youll also contribute to a positive working environment
with an emphasis on teamwork and cooperation.
The CNS role at St Catherines
aligns with Health Education Englands Advanced Clinical Practice Framework to
ensure our underpinning standards are consistent with advanced level practice,
including Physical assessment and Prescribing; however, consideration will be
given to applicants with relevant experience who can demonstrate commitment to
acquiring these skills within an agreed timeframe.
The post is offered on a full
time and part time basis, our full time hours are 37.5 hours per week but
flexibility will be considered for the right candidate. You will participate in
a rota system providing a 7 day per week cover including Bank Holidays, for our
patients and their families, via telephone advice and support, but may include
visiting out of hours in exceptional circumstances. Hours worked between 8am to
6pm and 10am to 8pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

We are located in Malthouse Road, Crawley, West Sussex, which is within
commuting distance from Brighton and London and just a 5-minute walk from Crawley
