Job summary
St Johns Hospice support over four thousand people with life limiting illnesses and their families across North London each year.
Our services include community care, Hospice Home, day services, inpatient care, social and welfare support, therapies and bereavement support. We care for all adults no matter their socio economic, religious or residential status.
Main duties of the job
- To take the lead on and look after a portfolio of growing mid-level giving for the Hospice and in consultation with line manager put together a first-time plan and annual forecast for this area
- To work closely with fundraising colleagues leading on other income streams Partnerships, Trust and Foundation, Community, In Memory and Commemorative Giving, also Marketing and Communications - to create and implement seamless donor journeys that help Hospice supporters feel engaged, valued and motivated to give
- To work with Marketing colleagues on our new Regular Giving programme inputting to key messages and donor communications; picking up on supporter queries and looking for ways to uplift regular givers to mid-level or beyond.

- To take a lead on prospect research for the Fundraising team, bringing a consistent approach to research and record keeping, and managing annual subscriptions for online research tools and memberships etc.
- To support line manager and Director of Fundraising on occasional projects, proposals and report writing
- To play a part in shared-team initiatives e.g. our Winter Appeal, Big Give and high level events, including an annual fundraising gala, helping to make activities a success and ensure mid-level donor are involved as appropriate

- Skilled in how to steward donors effectively and putting together a programme of engagement activities
- Good interpersonal skills, and ability to build authentic relationships with people from all walks of life and levels of seniority
- Experienced in using a CRM system (Salesforce or similar) for record keeping, queries, reports and mailings etc. and ability to use data analysis to inform planning and decision making
Desirable
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills and a good grasp of how to put together compelling copy for different purposes and audiences
- IT literate and good knowledge of suite of Microsoft Office applications, also Canva (or similar) to create reports, flyers etc.
