Job summary
We are looking for Housekeeper to join our customer service focussed team. You would be responsible for cleaning activities throughout the Hospital. This will include public areas, the wards, waiting areas, offices and back of house. This role would ideally suit someone with hotel experience where customer service, attention to detail, speed and efficiency are essential. You would be required to use a variety of cleaning chemicals and materials and will be given training as needed to successfully carry out the role.
Main duties of the job
- To complete deep cleans as per Infection Control Policy.
- To clean beds, chairs, shelving, bins, walls, vents, theatre lights but not limited to.
- On occasions is required to use step ladders to undertake cleaning of theatres pendant lights/ vents.

- To work as a member of the Estates & Facilities Team in all areas of the site. Must be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude and approach to their work to meet the needs of the service, this may require the changing priorities of the workload and duties.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Housekeeping service meets the needs and expectations of Patients, Visitors and Ward team. The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team; will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment by maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, as defined within the National Specification of Cleanliness.
- To perform cleaning duties using work schedules to promote and maintain a clean Hospital environment to staff and patients.
- Cleaning tasks will include, but not limited to: vacuum, high/ low dusting, dry/ wet mopping, descaling, sweeping, and washing up, removal of smudges and dirty marks, cleaning of ceiling vents and dispensers.
- Emptying/ cleaning of domestic and clinical waste bins. Ensure that waste bags are placed in the designated collection points.
- The use of specialist equipment such as vacuums, scrubbing machines, carpet shampooing machines and sealing of floors as per the cleaning procedures and schedules.
