Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant who will work closely with the Finance Director, Executive team and budget holders.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person to join a small team to support the Finance department to deliver a comprehensive service across the organisation and ensure compliance with finance policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

The role will liaise with internal and external departments as required and provide accurate and timely monthly accounts to a high standard. You will maintain records regarding KPIs and produce reports as required.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Liaise with and hold regular budget monitoring meetings with budget holders

Liaise with other departments within the charity, as required

Liaise with ERYC Payroll Department regarding staff salaries and appropriate HR matters as required

Liaise with funders and with other agencies regarding financial services

Assist in devising appropriate systems for ease of administration

Assist with sales and purchase ledgers

Assist with entering bank receipts and payments and reconciliations

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and other financial plans

Undertake budget variance analysis and prepare forecasts as required, identifying areas of concern

Prepare regular reports for the Finance Director on:

Areas of concern within Project budgets

Outcome of meetings with budget holders

Assist in the preparation of financial data for tender bids

Provide accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including preparing and posting accruals and prepayments, producing income and

expenditure statement and balance sheet and providing monthly balance sheet analysis

Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements and forecasts

Assist in the preparation of annual accounts, other statutory returns and returns required by funders

Assist in the maintenance of the Nominal Ledger

Maintain a high standard of records

  • A minimum of 2 years experience of accounting (Public, voluntary or independent sector)
  • Experience of administering financial office systems
  • Experience of monitoring budgets

Desirable

  • Experience of the charitable sector

Qualifications

  • Evidence of training and/or experience in the following:
  • -Financial and Management accounting
  • -Microsoft Excel

  • AAT or equivalent
