Main duties of the job
- Undertake a variety of duties including face to face consultations and telephone consultations.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems and formulate evidence-based management plans
- Provide health promotion and preventative health care advice to patients attending the service
- Compile and issue computer-generated electronic prescriptions
- Prescribe generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance)
- Adhere to all medicines management governance and ensure correct procedure is followed with regard to medicines policies and prescribing
- Clearly and accurately document consultations, including safety netting advice, in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals and services to deliver care to meet patients clinical, social and transport need
- Cover the clinical management of patients as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
- Promote the application of standards and codes of Practice set by the Royal College of General Practice, GMC NMC HCPC , Department of Health and local NHS trust.
- In general you will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP/ANP/ACP working within primary care.
