This is an exciting opportunity to join the Nimbuscare team in the role of Healthcare Assistant, to support the Nimbuscare team in the delivery of our services at the Community Diagnostics Centre.

Main duties of the job

The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will provide specific care to a group of patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or allied health professional. The HCA will work in the CDC.

The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education whilst also supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis.

The Healthcare Assistant will be expected to become proficient and competent in their area of practice by undertaking competency assessments specific to the area of clinical practice. The HCA will promote optimum independence and individualised client centred care to a delegated caseload.

To contribute to the on-going assessment of a patient by completing the appropriate paperwork.

To undertake, and report back on delegated clinical activities that have previously been signed competent. e.g., observations, ECG recording and interpretation, venepuncture.

To enable patients/carers to make most effective use of resources within the service by ensuring they receive up-to-date information sheets, responding to any questions constructively.

To pass onto/seek assistance from other colleagues, promptly, any questions that you are unable to resolve.

To assist with general duties appropriate to the clinical area as required.

To use clinical judgement and skills to report any untoward changes in carers or clients health status immediately to the relevant team member, GP, Nurse or emergency services if appropriate.

To plan and implement straightforward tasks and work guided by standard operating procedures and protocols and undertake roles/duties as delegated by a nurse.

Understand and continually make connections between patient experience, quality, safety and efficiency objectives to ensure the organisation delivers ambitious and sustainable improvement.
