Job Title: Ear Micro Suction Specialist Reports

Salary Range: 31k - 35k Salary pro rata dependent upon experience

Contract type: Fixed term (6 months)

JOB SUMMARY

We have a new and exciting opportunity to appoint a Registered General Nurse/ Audiologist with an interest and some level of experience in ear wax removal to join our dynamic and friendly team at Nimbuscare.

This role requires commitment, but the hours are flexible and could suit individuals on a job share basis. The clinic will initially run over 18hours per week; this will be x 2 (5 hour) shifts within core business hours 8am 6pm. Also 2 evenings a week 6pm 8pm and a Saturday morning 8am 1pm.

An accredited Micro Suction ear wax course will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be patient-focused and committed to ensuring the highest levels of care and service.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care

To work independently to provide ear wax removal using Micro Suction to patients with reference to agreed protocols and guidelines

Managing a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss due to wax management issues

Take responsibility of clinic and follow regulatory guidelines e.g. NICE Maintain clinical competencies

Ensure the consulting room is set up at the beginning of each clinic To be responsible for maintaining own CPD records in a form acceptable to your professional registered body

To maintain accurate records of all consultations and treatments in the patients notes, both written and computerised

To project a positive, friendly, professional image to patients in line with Nimbuscare values

Following best practice principles with regards to infection control in the workplace

Ensure the maintenance of equipment and stock levels in relation to patient care

Qualifications

Essential

• Current NMC registration / HCPC registration
• Practice Nurse qualification (where applicable)
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Clinical / Recognised qualification in either ear irrigation, ear syringe or ear micro suction wax removal BSHAA approved or equivalent

Experience

Essential

• Credible clinical background, demonstrating excellent clinical decision-making skills

Desirable

• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Able to prioritise and manage competing pressures
• Able to manage conflict and deal with difficult conversations effectively

Knowledge

Essential

• Previous ear care/ear wax removal experience

Desirable

• Previous ear care/ear wax removal experience
