Job responsibilities
1. Operational
Leadership & Service Delivery
Provide overall operational management of Ravenscar
Surgery.
Lead the day-to-day management of clinical and
non-clinical staff.
Support service mobilisation and continuous improvement
initiatives.
Ensure delivery of high-quality primary medical services
in line with:
NHS Contracts (GMS/PMS/APMS as applicable)
National, Local and Direct Enhanced Services
PCN contractual requirements
Support delivery of vaccination programmes and other
national priorities.
Promote a positive, inclusive and high-performing team
culture.
2. Patient &
Community Services
Manage reception and front-of-house services to ensure
excellent patient experience.
Oversee practice communications including patient information,
Facebook, website content, booklets and newsletters.
Manage the complaints procedure in line with NHS
regulations.
Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvements.
Work collaboratively with PCN partners, neighbouring
practices and stakeholders.
Attend PPG meetings and ensure that it is meaningful to
both the patients and practice staff.
3. Financial
Management
Maintain accurate financial systems and record keeping.
Support payroll processes in collaboration with HR and
Finance.
Monitor expenditure to ensure value for money.
Contribute to budget setting and financial planning.
Support reporting requirements to commissioners and stakeholders.
Ensure all enhanced services are claimed and monitor all
payments are received.
Oversea PPA claims and payments.
Monitor QOF and ensure that maximum points are attained.
Oversee practice-level financial controls and small
business accounts where required.
4. Human Resources
& Workforce Management
Provide day-to-day management of all practice staff.
Undertake workforce planning and skill-mix reviews.
Forecast staffing requirements and support recruitment
processes.
Ensure completion of appraisals and performance reviews.
Monitor sickness absence in line with company policy.
Support formal HR processes including disciplinaries and
grievances in partnership with the HR team.
Identify and facilitate training and development needs.
Promote staff wellbeing and engagement.
5. Premises &
Facilities Management
Oversee premises maintenance, security and cleaning
services.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
Lead risk management processes within the practice.
Manage stock control systems for clinical and
non-clinical supplies.
Oversee equipment lifecycle management and replacement
planning.
Lead on premises or equipment upgrade projects as
required.
6. Information
Governance & IT
Oversee systems for patient records and data integrity.
Ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation and
NHS Information Governance standards.
Monitor clinical coding consistency and reporting.
Lead on data security, back-up systems and IT crisis
prevention.
Analyse and reconcile GP Links data and produce required
reports.
Support digital innovation and system optimisation.
7. Governance,
Compliance & Quality
Ensure compliance with CQC standards and regulatory
frameworks.
Support audit, evaluation and clinical standard setting.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with practice
policies.
Contribute to organisational development and service
contract implementation.
Represent the Practice at PCN, ICB and Federation
meetings as required.
8. Professional
Development
Undertake mandatory and statutory training.
Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional
development.
Be willing to work towards relevant qualifications if not
currently held.
Contribute to lifelong learning and evidence-based
practice.
General
